Nays: None. 4.e Adopt an Ordinance Amending Title Two, Section 201.04 of the Roseville City Code relating to the Term of Planning Commission Chairperson (former Consent Item 3.m) City Manager Beets reviewed the proposed ordinance language from appointment at the first regular City Council meeting to the last regular City Council meeting of March, with terms to become effective April 1 of the calendar year for appointment of the Planning Commission Chair. Discussion ensued regarding whether the City Council wished to amend the proposed ordinance so the Planning Commission appointed the Chair, rather than the City Council, for consistency with other Commissions. It was the consensus of the City Council that the Planning Commission should appoint their own Chairperson. Schroeder moved, Ihlan seconded, enactment of Ordinance No. 1316 entitled, "An Ordinance of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, Amending Chapter 201 of the City Code by Amending Section 201.04, Term of Chair Person;" effective with the 2006 term; as amended with the Planning Commission appointing a Chair by April] of each calendar year. Public Comment John Kysylyczyn, 3083 N Victoria Street Mr. Kysylyczyn suggested that the City Council repeal the law, rather than amend it; noting that all other Commissions had it within their bylaws to appoint a Chairperson on an annual basis; and such repeal would clean up space in the ordinance book.
