<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 03/14/05 <br />Minutes - Page 13 <br /> <br />spoke in support of the neighborhood meeting process, allowing <br />residents to voice their opinions and make sure impacts of traffic <br />and the park were minimized to them; further opining that the <br />City Council owed the neighbors the completion of the process <br />and the Council's responsibility to find a way to fund it. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan concurred with Councilmember <br />Schroeder's comments, and spoke in support of the realignment <br />for environmental and public safety purposes, as well as <br />buffering the neighborhood. Councilmember Ihlan also <br />commended the process used in allowing the neighborhood to <br />provide substantial input and park and public works <br />infrastructure coordination efforts. Councilmember Ihlan <br />encouraged this type of process be initiated immediately for the <br />Langton Lake Park if the Twin Lakes Redevelopment project <br />proceeds. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing concurred with comments related to the process; <br />however, recognizing the City Council's need to consider overall <br />city-wide issues; he opined that it wouldn't be realistic to <br />consider reducing contingency funds to support this project at <br />this time. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka spoke in support of the design, while <br />voicing his concerns related to the walkway and funding sources; <br />but expressed optimism that funding options would be found. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Schroeder, Ihlan and Maschka. <br />Nays: Klausing. <br /> <br />7. The Roseville OVAL OVAL <br />Schroeder moved, Ihlan seconded, to postpone Agenda Items 7.a <br />and 7.b entitled respectively, "Consider a Proposal from BEM, <br />Corp. relating to the OVAL;" and Consider an Engineering <br />Consultant Contract for the OVAL;" until the March 21, 2005 <br />Council Study Session, or a meeting thereafter to allow for the <br />attendance of Councilmember Kough. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder spoke in support of the motion, <br />recognizing Councilmember Kough's personal concerns. <br />
