She encouraged the city to monitor a bill in the state legislature that might provide a source of matching funding for pathway construc- tion. She also urged cooperation with neighboring cities so maximum value can be gained from pathways. Councilmember Kough spoke in favor of a crosswalk bridge over Highway 36 since it was difficult and dangerous for pe- destrians to cross now. Councilmember Maschka asked about the potential for lining city water and sewer lines rather than digging up city streets agam. Councilmember Schroeder spoke in favor of pedestrian safety improvements such as seasonal crosswalk devices; and re- quested that the Public Works, Parks & Recreation and Police Departments work cooperatively to identify need for these. e.)
