Community Center - what/when/where?? <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan spoke to the value of city and school <br />district working groups talking about the future of the Fair- <br />view Community Center. She also commented on the impor- <br />tance of park dedication funding. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka also commented favorably on the <br />value of a city and school district working group. He also <br />asked staff to consider the potential for creating "service ar- <br />eas" for parks to raise more funds. He also asked how the <br />approximately $1.6 million in park dedication fees from the <br />Rottlund Twin Lakes Project might be handled. Mr. Brokke <br />responded that the Parks and Recreation Commission would <br />consider that. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough indicated that the Nature Center <br />needed attention and that possibly there may be volunteer <br />electricians who can help. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder asked staff to explore whether the <br />money raised through a park "service district" was collected <br />through property tax statements. He commented that the <br />Ladyslipper Park planning process was a good one, and he <br /> <br />7 <br />
