Recognitions, Donations, Communications <br /> <br />5.a Accept National Night Out Award National Night Out <br />Community Relations Coordinator Heather Darby provided <br />background information and an outline of National Night <br />Out and the ensuing award received by the City of <br />Roseville recognizing outstanding participation in <br />"America's Night Out Against Crime," from the National <br />Association of Town Watch. Ms. Darby thanked residents, <br />and specifically block captains and volunteers. <br /> <br />5.b <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing acknowledged those volunteers for this <br />program as well. <br /> <br />Police Chief Carol Sletner recognized Ms. Darby for her <br />behind-the-scenes coordination for both the annual Family <br />Night and National Night Out. <br /> <br />Accept a Donation from Target to the Roseville Police <br />Department <br />Police Chief Carol Sletner advised the City Council of <br />Target Foundation's award of a grant to the Roseville <br />Police Department in the amount of $500.00, as researched <br />by Ms. Darby, for use by parents to scan their home <br />computers for potentially offensive environments on behalf <br />of their children. Chief Sletner noted that the balance of <br />funds to purchase 1,000 copies of this ComputerCOP CD <br />software program for distribution within the community <br />would come from the City's Drug Forfeiture Fund. Chief <br />Sletner sought Council authorization to accept the grant <br />funds, noting that advertising would be forthcoming to alert <br />parents to the availability of this program. <br /> <br />Target Donation to <br />the Roseville Police <br />Department <br /> <br />Kough moved, Ihlan seconded, approval to accept the <br />$500.00 in grant funds from Target Foundation for the <br />Roseville Police Department to support the Computer COP <br />safety program. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />
