<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 01/10/05 <br />Minutes - Page 11 <br /> <br />Ayes: Maschka, Kough, Schroeder, Ihlan and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />5.c <br /> <br />Presentation to the Parks and Recreation Department <br />regarding their Application for National Accreditation <br />Parks and Recreation Director Lonnie Brokke introduced <br />Ramsey County Parks and Recreation Director Greg Mack, <br />who also serves on the National Accreditation Board; who <br />was welcomed by Mayor Klausing on behalf of the City <br />Council and community. <br /> <br />Mr. Brokke thanked various individuals, the City's Parks <br />and Recreation Commission and the City Council for their <br />continued support and encouragement; over 30 community- <br />affiliated groups and agencies; City staff in all departments, <br />and specifically the Parks and Recreation Administration <br />and Maintenance staffs for their involvement in the <br />National Accreditation process. <br /> <br />Mr. Brokke reviewed the process for re-accreditation and <br />specifically thanked Assistant Parks and Recreation <br />Director Jill Anfang for her lead role in the process. Mr. <br />Brokke noted that the City was one of only 54 recognized <br />within the nation; and had achieved 100% of the 156 <br />national standards in ten categories for recertification, <br />consisting of a self-assessment, peer review and eventual <br />certification. Mr. Brokke noted that the City of Roseville <br />had achieved a reputation for being second to none in the <br />field of parks and recreation self assessment, peer review <br />and certification. <br /> <br />Mr. Mack acknowledged the leadership model displayed by <br />the City of Roseville and their high standards in their Parks <br />and Recreation programs, and noted their leadership and <br />inspiration position in the area. Mr. Mack congratulated <br />the City of Roseville for meeting the challenge and serving <br />as a model for others to aspire to; and on behalf of the <br />Board of Accreditation, presented the award as a token <br />representing the work done by the community in <br />accomplishing and achieving this recognition for the third <br />time. <br /> <br />Parks & <br />Recreation <br />National <br />Accreditation <br />
