<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 01110/05 <br />Minutes - Page 34 <br /> <br />commISSIOners. <br /> <br />Maschka moved reappointment of Richard Houck to the Police <br />Civil Service Commission; and reappointment of Doug Wilke to <br />the Public Works, Environment and Transportation Commission, <br />effective March 31, 2005 respectively. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan questioned this reappointment process; <br />reviewing her perception of past Council directive, that all <br />vacancies would be advertised. <br /> <br />City Manager Beets reviewed his perception of Council <br />directives; noting that advertising for actual vacancies would be <br />the next step in the process. <br /> <br />Further discussion ensued regarding remaining vacancies; term <br />expirations; eligibility for reapplication; and resignations from <br /> <br />. . . <br />vanous commISSIOns. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan requested a copy of the policy being <br />followed by staff for her verification of the process. <br /> <br />Klausing moved, Schroeder seconded, tabling action on the <br />reappointment of commissioners as proposed until the January <br />24, 2005 Council Study Session and further discussion. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Maschka, Kough, Schroeder, Ihlan and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder requested that part of the discussion <br />on January 24, 2005 include term expirations being moved later <br />in the year to facilitate Councilmember changes and to allow <br />more time for familiarity with various commissions and <br />commissioners. Councilmember Schroeder suggested a term <br />expiration in Mayor later in the year may be more feasible than <br />the current March 31 st date. <br /> <br />12. <br /> <br />Consider a Community Town Hall Meeting Schedule <br />City Manager Beets provided four suggested dates outlined by <br />staff for potential Town Hall meetings for 2005.
