City Council Study Session - 01/24/05
Minutes - Page 3

be protectors of the public trust and monies, and should not
be using city tax monies for private development.

D. Don Dame, 6740 Ashwood Road, Woodbury
Mr. Dame advised Councilmembers that he had been the
victim of several felonies recently in Roseville; and
expressed his perception that the City's Police Department
had done little in investigating the felonies. Mr. Dame
noted that he had expressed similar dissatisfaction several
years ago with the lack of support he had received from the
City Manager and City Police Chief, and had recommended
at that time that they both be fired due to what he opined
was their incompetence. Mr. Dame opined that he had not
changed his opinion.

Mr. Dame briefly reviewed the history of the person
alleged to have committed these felonies, and questioned
the mismanagement of time by the Police Department in
spending time on traffic control on state highways rather
than investigating felonies within the community.

Mayor Klausing clarified Mr. Dame's requested action; and
recommended that Mr. Dame provide a written complaint
to Police Chief SIemer, with a copy to the City Manager.

Councilmember Ihlan suggested that the City Council
receive a copy of the written complaint to ensure that
adequate follow-up and a timely response was provided to
Mr. Dame to maintain accountability.

Councilmember Kough suggested that Mr. Dame stop in
during his City Hall office hours on Wednesday at 1:00
p.m., at which time he would request that City Manager
Beets and Police Chief Sletner also be present, to determine
what had transpired and the status of the investigation.

E. Tam McGehee, 77 Mid Oaks Lane
Ms. McGehee noted that she had, in the past, had a similar
situation with the Police Department in her neighborhood;
and encouraged the City Council to pursue accountability.
