<br />City Council Study Session - 01124/05 <br />Minutes - Page 6 <br /> <br />Kough moved, Ihlan seconded, Resolution No. 10274 entitled, <br />"A Second Resolution Requesting the Minnesota Department <br />of Transportation to Reconsider the Closure of the Median <br />Crossover on Snelling at Oakcrest Street;" amended as <br />follows: <br />First "WHEREAS... amended to read" <br />"WHEREAS The City Council of the City of Roseville <br />understands that the Minnesota Department of <br />Transportation is proposing to close [has closed] the <br />median crossover on Snelling Avenue, South of <br />County Road C; and" <br /> <br />"NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOL VED that the <br />City Council of the City of Roseville formally urges the <br />Minnesota Department of Transportation to reconsider <br />the elosllre [reopening] of the Snelling crossover, <br />[pending construction of County Road C], in light of <br />the public comment received at the Neighborhood <br />Meeting on January 12, 2005; and when County Road <br />C construction is complete, make their final decision if <br />permanent closure is necessary." <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing, while speaking in support of the motion, <br />reminded Councilmembers that tonight's meeting was a Study <br />Session, and action items were taken at regular Council <br />meetings, following a staff report. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough noted that business owners impacted by <br />the closure were anxious for the Council to take this action. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan spoke in support of the motion, as <br />amended; noting that the neighborhood meeting had been <br />productive and provided a useful discussion on the issue. <br />Councilmember Ihlan spoke in support of the formation of a <br />Task Force to determine long-term solutions to the closure. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Maschka, Kough, Schroeder, Ihlan and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough thanked the residents in attendance at the <br />
