<br />City Council Regular Meeting - OS/23/05 <br />Minutes - Page 31 <br /> <br />Amendment #3 as follows: <br />Deleting Section 501.16 (A) (2); (definition of "potentially <br />dangerous animal") and 501.16 (C), (registration of <br />"potentially dangerous animals"); and to remove all other <br />references to "potentially dangerous animals" from the <br />ordinance. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka noted that the language in that <br />particular section was verbatim from State Statute; with the only <br />addition related to wheeled conveyances. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan reiterated her position statements. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing spoke in opposition to the motion; opining that <br />the first intent was to parallel state statute; but that this proposed <br />amendment would remove parallel language. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough spoke in support of the amendment; <br />opining that small dogs would be placed in the same category as <br />pit bulls, with the original ordinance language. <br /> <br />Staff had prepared a position statement regarding <br />Councilmember Ihlan' s three proposed amendments to the <br />proposed Vicious Animal Ordinance; and was provided as a <br />Bench Handout at the beginning of the meeting. <br /> <br />Roll Call (Ihlan Amendment #3) <br />Ayes: Kough and Ihlan. <br />Nays: Maschka; Schroeder and Klausing. <br />Motion fails. <br /> <br />Roll Call (Original Motion with Ihlan Amendment #1 and 2) <br />Ayes: Maschka and Klausing. <br />Nays: Kough; Ihlan and Schroeder. <br />Motion fails. <br /> <br />10. OVAL Task Force Update OVAL Task Force <br />Jake Jacobson, Chair of the OVAL Task Force, provided the City <br />Council with an update of Task Force activities, following their <br />last directive at the April 9, 2005 City Council meeting to <br />provide their final report by June 20, 2005, to coincide with the <br />
