<br />Organizational City Council Minutes - 1/5/04 <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />interpretation of intent to this point. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough expressed his desire to get <br />someone on board as quickly as possible. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing sought a compromise of those <br />Councilmember opinions expressed by recommending <br />an application period from January 6 to January 16, <br />2004 close of business; with the applications provided <br />to the City Council and posted on the City's website <br />prior to scheduled interviews to be held on Tuesday, <br />January 20, 2004. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder expressed a longer period <br />for Council review of applications. <br /> <br />Councilmember Klausing began to recommend <br />accepting applications through the end of business on <br />Thursday, January 15, 2004, which would allow an <br />additional day for review prior to interviews on <br />Tuesday, January 20. <br /> <br />John Kysylyczyn, 3083 Victoria Street N <br />Mr. Kysylyczyn interrupted Council discussion to <br />question why the recent Roseville Wrap newsletter did <br />not provide application dates; and questioned whether <br />the application process and notices would be obscurely <br />placed in publications with no attempt by staff to seek <br />as wide of an audience and public awareness as <br />possible. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing sought further Council discussion. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka opined his support of <br />additional time for application filing; and had no <br />preference for a January 20 or January 26th <br />appointment date. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing noted that the appointment was only <br />temporary and that a Special Election would be <br />following shortly, opining that those interested had <br />
