Regular City Council Meeting - 01/26/04
Page 27

reconvened the meeting at 8:58 p.m.

Mayor Klausing noted that it was his usual preference to hold
interviews prior to appointment, but given the timeframe, he was
willing to forego that process for these appointments. Mayor
Klausing expressed concurrence with City Manager Beets'
suggestion to hold interviews only for the member-at-large
position and for the two Roseville Small Business applicants
from three candidates. Mayor Klausing sought Council
feedback, and whether a Special Council meeting was necessary
on Monday, February 2, 2004, to accomplish rankings of
applicants.

Further discussion ensued regarding outstanding business items
for the February 9, 2004 Council meeting; and how to proceed
with the ranking process to reach consensus.

Consensus was achieved as follows:
· Each Councilmember would rank a minimum of their top
two candidates for each applicable position.
· Individual rankings will be provided to City Manager
Beets by Monday, February 2, 2004 for compilation and
inclusion in the February 9,2004 Council Agenda packets.
· At the recommendation of Community Development
Director Welsch, the deadline was extended for business
and property owners within Twin Lakes until 3:00 p.m. on
February 9, 2004 with staff attempting to recruit additional
applicants and providing the additional applicants at that
night's meeting.
· No Special Meeting was scheduled.

After the eliminations as referenced above, revised applications
received to-date are as follows:

Area/Capacity on Panel Applicant
Residents - Northwest/Brenner (2) Kotecki
Robertson
Olson
Residents east side of Langton Lake (2) Erickson
Ternes
Milton
Johnson-Nygaard
