<br />Regular City Council Meeting - 03/29/04 <br />Minutes - Page 27 <br /> <br />process followed. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing noted that Mr. Welsch had previously discussed <br />the telecommunication industry; noting that it was regulated by <br />federal statute, and while the City could not exclude them from a <br />city, Roseville had taken a step in not allowing them on private <br />property, while at the same time generating a profit for public <br />benefit. <br /> <br />Mr. Miller further noted that the companies were regulated by <br />the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations related to <br />health and public safety conditions, and represented no health <br />risk that were known. <br /> <br />Maschka moved, Schroeder seconded, approval of a 50' addition <br />to the City Hall Monopole; and authorized staff to continue lease <br />negotiations with Verizon and T-Mobile; with lease agreements <br />to be formally approved by the City Council at a future date. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka clarified his intent with the motion that <br />it was subject to final lease negotiations (i.e., when leases were <br />signed, the pole extension would be installed). Finance Director <br />Miller confirmed the intent and process. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder noted that the Council's original <br />action in 2003 made appropriate notifications; and spoke in <br />support of the motion. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing requested that staff follow up on the notification <br />requirements to property owners related to installation of <br />antennae. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Ihlan, Kough, Maschka, Schroeder and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />Consider Amendments to the 2004 Calendar of City Council <br />Meetings <br />City Manager Beets brought forward the 2004 City Council <br />calendar as adopted by the City Council at their January 5, 2004 <br />organizational meeting.
