Community Town Hall Meeting - 04/03/04
Minutes - Page 15

Dorothy Ohnsorg, 2523 Maple Lane
Ms. Ohnsorg voiced her interest in the future of Old
Highway 8 and County Road C-2 and expressed her desire
to be involved, along with other area residents, particularly
in the aesthetic issues along Old Highway 8.

Ms. Ohnsorg noted she was tremendously impressed with
the consideration given to minor details along Hamline
A venue during discussions of the proposed development,
and hoped those same considerations were given her area.

Mayor Klausing recognized those residents in attendance at
today's meeting from the area along Old Highway 8, and
expressed his appreciation for their interest.

Marc McCahill, 2164 Rosewood
Mr. McMahill identified himself as a "huge fan" of the
City's pathways and trail system. Mr. McCahill alerted
Councilmembers and staff of the City of Minneapolis'
consideration of a partnership with private providers of
short-range, high-speed wireless for wi-fi transceivers in
parkland areas. Mr. McCahill noted that consideration of a
partnership could benefit the City in several ways, through
increased revenue and advance communication
technologies. Mr. McCahill volunteered to provide
additional information to Councilmembers via e-mail.

Mayor Klausing reviewed federal government requirements
for wireless towers and the City's policy for their
placement on city-owned land, rather than private property.

Margaret Asenbrenner, 1213 Skillman Ave. W
Ms. Asenbrenner encouraged the City to pursue clean up of
highway exit and entrance ramps within the City; and the
inaccessibility of some of them for private citizens to
consider clean up.

Mayor Klausing acknowledged Ms. Asenbrenner's
comments, shared her concerns, and requested that City
Manager Beets review the volunteer recruitment for city-
wide clean up currently underway. Mayor Klausing
