City Council Study Session - 01/23/06 Minutes - Page 2 on their re-election, and Councilmember Pust on her election to the Roseville City Council; and thanked them for their willingness to give their time in service to the community. Dr. Thein collectively and individually thanked the City's staff from all departments for their outstanding service, and the outstanding cooperation between the City and School District. Dr. Thein expressed pride in City staff; their expertise; honesty; cooperation; and sharing of various programs and facilities. Dr. Thein concluded by thanking the City Council for their oversight of that cooperative and successful relationship. Councilmember Maschka thanked Dr. Thein for his comments; and requested time in the near future for a joint meeting between the School Board and City Council to discuss areas of interest to both parties. Dr. Thein advised he would schedule a meeting with staff to facilitate individual board agendas and schedules; and noted several areas of interest, including the cable company building lease expiration in August 2008 and the School Boards interest in that property, along with the City. Dr. Thein proposed that City Managers from other communities get together to determine a meeting format and areas of interest. Councilmember Kough questioned Dr. Thein on the immediate future of the Fairview Community Center. Dr. Thein advised that the District had no plans for resale of the facility and noted it's importance in the community. Dr. Thein noted that programming at the facility was being maintained as much as possible; noted the substantial heating requirements; and for at least the next two years, there were no planned changes at the facility. Mayor Klausing concurred with Dr. Thein's comments praising City staff; opining that "they make it work."
