<br />City Council Study Session - 06/21/04 <br />Minutes - Page 5 <br /> <br />additional furniture (Le., 89 chairs for the Council <br />Chambers) be put on hold, pending completion of the <br />Council Chambers remodel, noting that the current chairs <br />were still usable. <br /> <br />City Manager Beets noted that the purchase of new chairs <br />for the Chambers was part of the fixtures/furniture <br />reconstruction budget, not an additional expense, and also <br />that given rising steel prices, this purchase price was <br />beneficial to the City. Mr. Beets further noted that the <br />existing chairs were slated for use in other parts of the <br />building, and would be needed due to the increased space <br />now realized at the City Hall campus. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough reiterated his desire for the City to <br />be more conservative. <br /> <br />Maschka moved, Schroeder seconded, approval of general <br />purchases and/or contracts for services for the following: <br /> <br />Vendor Item/Description Amount <br />Clarey's Safety Equipment Class B Foam for Fire trucks $7,500.00 <br />Alternative Business Furniture Chairs (89), Council Chambers 10,775.92 <br />Boonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik Design services for Skating 9,400.00 <br />& Associates Center heating system <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Ihlan, Kough, Maschka, Schroeder and Kla",:!sing. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />5.c <br /> <br />Approve Date and Concept Plan for City Open House <br />(Moved from Consent Item 4.c) <br />Councilmember Schroeder requested that, related to the <br />unveiling of plaques (both original and new), that staff <br />continue to research and provide additional information to <br />the City Council of other potential participants that would <br />include involvement of other past Councilmembers and/or <br />their families. <br /> <br />City Manager Beets noted that it was staff s intent to <br />include former Mayors and Councilmembers, but they were <br />not individually listed on the proposed dedication of City <br /> <br />Approve Date and <br />Concept Plan for <br />City Open House <br />
