<br />City Council Study Session -10/18/04 <br />Minutes - Page 2 <br /> <br />issues; and opined that the current condition of the City's <br />public safety and fire departments should be seen as areas <br />of pride for the community. <br /> <br />Mr. Chandler, on behalf of active Roseville firefighters, <br />urged the Council to reconsider the need for full-time <br />staff; and before making any changes in the department, <br />talk to firefighters; as well as considering impacts to the <br />City's public safety and its firefighters. <br /> <br />B. Janet Delmore, 526 Lovell Avenue <br />Ms. Delmore questioned the lack of written response of <br />staff and the City Attorney regarding her previously- <br />expressed concerns regarding an issue between the <br />interactions of the Roseville Police Department and <br />several children of color. <br /> <br />Ms. Delmore further clarified recent correspondence from <br />city staff, that she opined the letter in question was <br />actually a form letter, not facilitated by the Human Rights <br />Commission. <br /> <br />C. Sarah Coleman, wife of 3-year firefighter <br />Ms. Coleman echoed the concerns expressed by Mr. <br />Chandler regarding support for Fire Chief Gasaway and <br />Assistant Fire Chief O'Neill; requesting that the City <br />Council continue provide assurances for her husband's <br />safety as a firefighter through continued safety provisions, <br />education and extensive training. <br /> <br />D. Tam McGehee, 77 Mid Oaks Lane <br />Ms. McGehee read a letter to Roseville cItIzens from <br />former Roseville Director of Finance and former Acting <br />City Manager Ed Burrell regarding financial details related <br />to the proposed Twin Lakes redevelopment. The letter <br />addressed Mr. Burrell's concerns and opinions regarding <br />tax increment financing issues and property taxes; and <br />questioned the fiduciary and statutory responsibilities and <br />actions of the Council. <br /> <br />Ms. McGehee opined further concerns regarding <br />
