<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 10/25/04 <br />Minutes - Page 18 <br /> <br />project; noting that the proposed affected sanitary sewer lift Midland Hills <br />station had been included in the City's Capital Improvement Subdivision <br />Program for an upgrade, and in fairness to the developer's need <br />to relocate the lift station, staff felt it was appropriate to enter <br />into an agreement with the developer for cost-sharing the <br />relocation of the lift station. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Schwartz noted that the developer (United <br />Properties) will be constructing public improvements, including <br />relocating the lift station, sanitary sewer, water, storm sewer <br />relocation and street restoration. Mr. Schwartz noted that the <br />City would work with the developer's engineer during <br />construction to ensure the improvements were installed <br />according to approved plans and City standards and <br />specifications. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough sought clarification of the percentage of <br />costs to be born by the City; with Public Works Director <br />Schwartz advising approximately ten percent (10%) would be <br />born by the City. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder sought clarification as to ongoing <br />standardization of lift stations throughout the community, and <br />this lift station's compatibility with other lift stations. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Schwartz advised that staff was <br />continuing to work with the developer's engineers; and it was <br />staff's intent to continue standardizing the lift station control <br />panels, while at the same time incorporating new and improved <br />technologies. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan sought clarification regarding the City's <br />$25,000 contribution, already set aside, for upgrading the lift <br />station even without the pending move required by the <br />developer. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Schwartz advised that Councilmember <br />Ihlan's perception was correct, and was included in the City's <br />depreciation schedule. <br /> <br />Further discussion included the purpose of the sanitary sewer lift <br />
