Regular City Council Minutes - 1/13/03
Page 6

Further discussion included the comer lot calculations, as
per the City's Assessment Policy.

Mayor Kysylyczyn clarified the issues before the City
Council: establishing the hearing date and whether they
were in agreement with the general philosophy that these
two streets needed improvement.

Mayor Kysylyczyn asked if there was an option for a 24'
wide street, rather than a 28' wide road.

Ms. Bloom responded that if the road width were any
narrower than 28', as it is currently, it would require parking
along one (1) side only.

Mayor Kysylyczyn asked staff to provide infonnation as to
the validity and projected cost savings of a 24' wide road,
which would pay for a cul-de-sac that was more preferred
for the Public Works and Fire Departments.

Ms. Bloom advised that there were twenty-two (22)
properties in the reconstruction area this year.

Mr. Schwartz amended the draft resolution included in the
Council packet to indicate the 2003 Legal Newspaper
designation from the Roseville Review to the Pioneer Press.

Councilmember Schroeder cautioned staff to reinvestigate
the proposed hammerhead.

Ms. Bloom advised that staff would do so and provide
additional information, but staff was attempting to keep it in
the right-of-way.

Roll Call
Ayes: Maschka, Kough, Schroeder, Klausing and
Kysylyczyn.
Nays: None.
