<br />Regular City Council Minutes - 2/24/03 <br />Page 12 <br /> <br />Kysylyczyn moved, Schroeder seconded, authorization to <br />fill the position of Network Engineer; approve the <br />recommended salary range of $48 - 68,000; and to <br />authorize the necessary budget amendments to increase the <br />Information Technology Budget to $275,100; with the <br />provision that the position shall be considered terminated <br />upon dissolution of either the Little Canada or Oakdale <br />Ioint Powers Agreements. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder sought clarification from City <br />Attorney Anderson on how binding the IP A's were with <br />regard to term fulfillment. <br /> <br />City Attorney Anderson opined that they would operate <br />under the same provisions as any other contract. <br /> <br />Finance Director Miller clarified that each JP A included a <br />timeline, with language stating that either party could <br />terminate within ninety (90) days written notice. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn clarified that should someone enact the <br />ninety (90) day clause, it would come back to the Council <br />with the provision included in the motion. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka opined that the provision was <br />unnecessary and that Councilmembers needed to maintain <br />a level of trust with staff that they would seek Council <br />approval for any budget amendments should someone <br />dissolve a IP A. <br /> <br />Further discussion ensued regarding inclusion of the <br />provision in the motion. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Kough, Klausing, Maschka, Schroeder and <br />Kysylyczyn. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />x. <br /> <br />Ordinances & Resolutions <br /> <br />Ordinances & <br />Resolutions <br />
