Mr. Roe <br />stated that perhaps a larger study of the primary election <br />issue was more appropriate from a different perspective <br />(i.e., League of Minnesota Cities); and suggested those <br />other resources be allowed to review the issue, with the <br />Roseville City Council focusing on priorities. Mr. Roe <br />stated that, should the Council as a group determine <br />further study was needed, a formal commission be <br />appointed, rather than the open lottery format used for the <br />Task Force, not really being representative of the City as <br />a whole. <br /> <br />Mr. Roe further addressed concerns regarding the <br />"politics" not being one-sided, and that it was a citizen <br />impression representative of both sides; and stated that <br />citizens wanted their representatives to respect each other <br />while voicing their opinions, as well as audience <br />members expressing and listening to others' opinions <br />respectfully. <br /> <br />Mr. Roe concluded with comments regarding the <br />aforementioned video that was aired concurrently with <br />the City Council meeting, stating that someone could get <br />the impression that it was City Council associated, <br />approved or sanctioned; and that air time was controlled <br />by the City Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Klausing expressed his appreciation to <br />Mr. Roe for his articulate comments. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn spoke to past free-for-all attacks; and <br />whether there were other groups around to handle the <br />issue regarding primaries; and recognized that special <br />interest groups attempt to flood a meeting, <br /> <br />Lois Forsblad, 1057 Harriet Lane N. <br />Ms. Forsblad stated, with all due respect to the City <br />Council, that she personally believed that so much time <br />has been spent on something for which the majority of <br />residents of Roseville haven't asked.
