<br />Regular City Council Minutes - 7/28/03 <br />Page 8 <br /> <br />Staff was directed to provide this analysis to the Council <br />by August 18, 2003 or sooner if possible, in order to allow <br />Council review over the Labor Day recess. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Schroeder, Maschka, Kough and Kysylyczyn. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />B. 2003 - 2004 Sergeants/Teamsters Contract Terms <br />Kysylyczyn moved, Maschka seconded approval of the <br />proposed terms and conditions for the 2003 - 2004 <br />collective bargaining agreement with the Teamsters, and <br />directing staff to prepare the necessary documents for <br />execution. <br /> <br />Ms. Bacon reviewed the proposed components as ratified <br />by the Union for their 2003 - 2004 Sergeants/Teamsters <br />Contract, consisting of seven (7) employees. Ms. Bacon <br />reviewed those elements consisting of the proposed two- <br />year term; a 3% wage increase for 2003 and a 2%, plus a <br />1 % Stanton V adjustment for 2004; employer contribution <br />of a maximum 520.68 per month per employee for 2003, <br />or the same amount contributed for all other City <br />employees, which ever is greater; annual uniform <br />allowance increase from $580 to $656 for 2003, with a 3% <br />increase in 2004 for a total of $675; elimination of <br />education incentive and longevity in 2003, with <br />replacement to a four-step system of wages; compensatory <br />accrual maximums increase from 50 to 60 hours per year; <br />and continued discussion by the City and Teamsters for <br />post-employment health care savings plan as a possible <br />addition to the City benefits package. <br /> <br />Ms. Bacon further reviewed the City's past philosophy and <br />benchmarks, as well as policy and financial implications. <br /> <br />Police Chief Carol Sletner was called upon for her <br />comments regarding the increase in uniform allowance. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder, with Mayor Kysylyczyn <br /> <br />2003 - 2004 <br />Sergeants/ <br />Teamsters Contract <br />Terms <br />
