<br />Regular City Council Minutes -10/20/03 <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />government of our size and in our framework; and the City <br />had leveraged that expertise to benefit others and been <br />successful in taking the initiative on numerous fronts and <br />develop a good model to follow. Mr. Miller further <br />opined that Roseville' s business model should not be <br />allowed to stagnate, but recommended caution in <br />committing any substantial IT staff time until the long- <br />tern1 advantages for Roseville can be determined. <br /> <br />Corm11issioner McDonough reiterated the County's desire <br />to initially structure the policy process as all-inclusive as <br />possible, and requested a firm commitment from the City <br />initially, with the City's continued involvement <br />detern1ined at a later date. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka opined that volume purchasing <br />of both software and hardware would be advantageous to <br />the City, and recommended that the City be a participant <br />during the initial stages to best determine how valuable <br />continued participation would be to the City. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder concurred, opining that while <br />he was concerned that the end result may not be what the <br />City was anticipating, it would be advantageous to be a <br />participant in the initial discussions; provided the only cost <br />to the City at this time would be in staff resources. <br />Councilmember Schroeder expressed his satisfaction with <br />the City's IT staff. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough requested additional time to <br />evaluate and consider the request, given current budget <br />and staffing constraints. <br /> <br />Corm11issioner McDonough and Mayor Kysylyczyn <br />discussed and further clarified the County's request for a <br />Resolution of Support from the City of Roseville <br />conm1itting to their initial participation. <br /> <br />K ysy 1 yczyn moved, Maschka seconded, to direct the City <br />Manager to prepare a resolution of participation for <br />approval at the next City Council meeting scheduled for <br />
