<br />Regular City Council Minutes - 11/24/03 <br />Page 27 <br /> <br />since senior cItIzens would only realize a 2% COLA <br />increase from Social Security. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Maschka, Klausing and Kysylyczyn. <br />Nays: Schroeder and Kough. <br /> <br />Su ested Reduction <br />Reduce warning siren replacelnent <br />from 2 to 1 <br /> <br />Su ested Amount <br />$14,000 <br /> <br />Kysylyczyn moved, Maschka seconded, reducing the <br />replacement of warning sirens fron1 two replacements to <br />one replacement in 2004 at a projected savings of $14,000. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Maschka, SChIoeder, Kough, Klausing and <br />Kysylyczyn. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />Su ested Reduction <br />Reduce out-of-state <br />conferences/training <br /> <br />Su gested Amount <br />$5,000 - 15,000 <br /> <br />Kysylyczyn moved <br />conferences/training. <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />reduce <br /> <br />out-of-state <br /> <br />Finance Director Miller noted that all five <br />Councilmembers had reached consensus on reducing out- <br />of-state conferences/training, but differed on the amount <br />of the reduction. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the total budgeted funds. <br /> <br />Kysylyczyn withdrew his first motion, and moved, Kough <br />seconded, reduction of out-of-state conferences and <br />training for an overall reduction of $15,000. <br /> <br />Further discussion ensued with differing opinions in how <br />best to determine the training and conference priorities for <br />each department; ensuring that quality levels of service <br />
