<br />Regular City Council Minutes - 11/24/03 <br />Page 30 <br /> <br />Nays: Kough. <br /> <br />Re uested Reduction <br />Eliminate membership in the National <br />League of Cities (NLC) <br /> <br />Su ested Amount <br />$5,300 <br /> <br />Kysylyczyn moved, Schroeder seconded, elimination of <br />membership in the National League of Cities at a <br />reduction of $5,300. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Maschka, Schroeder, Kough, Klausing and <br />Kysylyczyn. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />Sug ested Reduction <br />Reduce contribution to the 1-35W <br />Corridor Coalition <br /> <br />Su ested Amount <br />$10,000 - 10,500 <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn and City Manager Beets noted that the <br />Coalition had taken the initiation to reduce their final dues, <br />but staff was awaiting the final reduction, anticipated to be <br />approximately 10%. <br /> <br />Klausing moved, Maschka seconded, reducing <br />contributions to the 1-35W Corridor Coalition by $10,000. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn spoke against the motion, <br />recommending a reduction of $3,000 at this time, given <br />the ramifications for other member cities, and the City's <br />obligated contractual rate for the Housing Resource <br />Center. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder spoke against the motion, <br />recommending a reduction of $3,500, or a 10% reduction, <br />citing the advantages of the Housing Resource Center as a <br />resource. <br /> <br />After further negotiation, Kysylyczyn n10ved an <br />amendment to the motion; Klausing seconded, the <br />amendment to reduce contributions to the 1-35W Corridor <br />Coalition by $3,000, rather than the original $10,000 <br />
