<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 03/27/06 <br />Minutes - Page 14 <br /> <br />construction projects. <br /> <br />Ms. Timm, 1420 Talisman Curve <br />Ms. Timm spoke to Ms. Bloom's consistency and effective <br />communication in keeping the neighborhood informed. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Maschka; Pust; Ihlan; Kough and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />8. <br /> <br />Public Hearing for Lake Owasso Water Ski Course and <br />Jump <br />City Manager Beets reviewed the annual request for approval of <br />a Ramsey County Sheriff's permit for placement of a water ski <br />course and jump on Lake Owasso; with due notice provided by <br />mail to affected lake property owners; posted on the City's <br />bulletin board; and also published in the City's legal newspaper, <br />the Roseville Review. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing opened the Public Hearing at 7: 18 p.m. <br /> <br />Benjamin Seim, 513 Heinel Drive <br />As a new resident to Lake Owasso, Mr. Seim had several <br />questions regarding the users, times of use and safety issues <br />regarding the proposed course and jump. Mr. Seim at the same <br />time sought permission for use of the course and jump. <br /> <br />Steve Gallop, 435 Walnut Lane, Shoreview, MN, <br />representing the applicant, the Lake Owasso Safe Boating <br />Association (LOSBA) <br />Mr. Gallop noted that as a fellow Lake Owasso resident, it was <br />his responsibility to maintain the jump; reviewed when the jump <br />was used, based on other lake traffic and weather conditions due <br />to safety concerns; and spoke to the state champions who <br />currently used the jump annually for practice. Mr. Gallop <br />welcomed Mr. Seims' use of the facilities, following safety <br />discussions with the Association, and encouraged Mr. Seims to <br />speak further with him following the Public Hearing. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing thanked Mr. Gallop for his cooperation and <br />comments; and closed the Public Hearing at 7 :21 p.m. <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br />Lake Owasso <br />Water Ski Course <br />and Jump <br />
