<br />City Council Study Session - 07/17/06 <br />Minutes - Page 7 <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan observed the future involvement of the City in <br />ideas to preserve circulator buses in Roseville and the Metropolitan <br />Transit's request for input from the City on how to maintain and <br />improvement their viability. <br /> <br />Council member Pust encouraged the PWETC to provide their input, <br />time and resources to provide the City with options for stronger <br />leadership with the Metropolitan Council regarding regional <br />transportation issues (i.e., light rail transit and bus lines) and sought <br />the PWETC's involvement with the visioning process to discuss and <br />make recommendation regarding those regional transportation issues. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing concurred; opining various regional and metropolitan <br />transportation issues that affect the community were difficult, yet vital, <br />and required regional solutions. Mayor Klausing encouraged the <br />PWETC to provide their thoughts and ideas to the City Council as they <br />related to the upcoming ballot initiative for vehicle sales taxes <br />dedicated and phased for transit uses. <br /> <br />Chair Wilke noted the upcoming Hamline Avenue discussion; a review <br />of the pilot program for single sort recycling; and other items being <br />discussed by the commission. Chair Wilke sought further Council <br />directive at their discretion. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough requested that the PWETC look into various <br />initiatives for encouraging people using the community, and city <br />residents to work cooperatively to keep the City beautiful. <br /> <br />Chair Wilke, and Mayor Klausing, thanked the respective groups for <br />the joint meeting. <br /> <br />Recess Recess <br />Mayor Klausing recessed the meeting at approximately 6:53 p.m. <br />and reconvened at 7:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Approve Agenda Approve Agenda <br />Mayor Klausing called for any comments or discussion on tonight's <br />Agenda. As a result of this discussion, the agenda was revised by <br />consensus, moving Items 13.g, 10, and 9, respectively entitled, <br />"Request of Councilmember Kough to discuss the Geese Problem in <br />Roseville;" "Consider Appointment of Interim City Manager;" and <br />
