<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 09/25/06 <br />Minutes - Page 16 <br /> <br />the design of the road raises safety issues, as well as <br />neighborhood compatibility issues given the dimension of <br />Acorn Road at 19 feet with no sidewalks; parking concerns; <br />private road and enforceability of restrictions and <br />maintenance; and access emergency vehicles and other public <br />safety concerns. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing requested a roll call vote. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Maschka; Ihlan and Kough. <br />Nays: Pust and Klausing. <br />Motion to DENY carried. <br /> <br />Ihlan moved, Kough seconded, DENIAL of REZONING from <br />R-I, Single-family Residence District to Planned Unit <br />Development with an underlying zoning of R-I; based on <br />availability of other alternative uses; and no need to rezone to <br />make reasonable use of the property and remain consistent <br />with the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Maschka; Ihlan and Kough. <br />Nays: Pust and Klausing. <br />Motion to DENY carried. <br /> <br />Ihlan moved, Kough seconded, DENIAL of the GENERAL <br />CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT PLANNED UNIT <br />DEVELOPMENT PLAN; based on concerns about <br />compatibility of four single-family lots with a road <br />surrounding the neighborhood; loss of trees and open space; <br />drainage issues with contiguous properties remain <br />unanswered at this time; and concerns that the design of the <br />road raises safety issues, as well as neighborhood <br />compatibility issues given the dimension of Acorn Road at <br />nineteen 19 feet with no sidewalks; parking concerns; private <br />road and enforceability of restrictions and maintenance; and <br />access emergency vehicles and other public safety concerns. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing reiterated his concerns related to denying the <br />request. <br />
