<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 09/25/06 <br />Minutes - Page 8 <br /> <br />Interim City Manager Miller read the proclamation declaring <br />September 25-29, 2006 as Race Equality and Inclusive <br />Communities Week. <br /> <br />Kough moved, Ihlan seconded, declaring September 25 - <br />29, 2006 as Race Equality and Inclusive Communities <br />Week. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Maschka; Ihlan; Kough; Pust and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />S.b <br /> <br />Monthly HRA Update from Councilmember Maschka <br />Councilmember Maschka briefly reviewed activities of the <br />HRA; including recent completion of the Rental Task Force <br />Report, which would be coming forward shortly. <br />Councilmember Maschka noted the significant disparities <br />and differing opinions on several issues at the outset of the <br />study, and the unanimous recommendation of the Task <br />Force at the end of the analysis period. Councilmember <br />Maschka also addressed the Har Mar Apartment project, and <br />current study being done by the HRA Finance Committee <br />prior to City Council consideration. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pust questioned if the $100,000 additional <br />funding from the HRA was still included in the financing <br />package. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka advised that it was still in the <br />package, and the HRA Finance Committee would need to <br />determine whether to consider it in the final package. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />Consider the Appeal of the Variance Board's Action to Deny <br />the Request by Charles Weleczki & Todd Iliff for a Variance <br />to ~ 1004.016 (PF 3781) <br />Community Development Director John Stark reviewed the <br />request and Variance Board determination and DENIAL on a 3/0 <br />vote, based on the Variance Board's interpretation that the <br />"hardship" was self-created and that a deviation to the Code <br />would not be characteristic of the adjacent neighborhood; and the <br />applicant's appeal to the City Council, pursuant to City Code, <br />Section 1014.04C. <br /> <br />Inclusive <br />Communities <br />Week, September <br />25 - 29, 2006. <br /> <br />Monthly HRA <br />Update from <br />Councilmember <br />Maschka <br /> <br />Consider the <br />Appeal of the <br />Variance Board's <br />Action to Deny the <br />Request by <br />Charles Weleczki <br />& Todd Iliff for a <br />Variance to ~ <br />1004.016 (PF 3781) <br />
