City Council Minutes 08/19/02
Page 4

III. Public Comment

A. Jim and Cheryl Caddy, 2004 Eldridge Avenue West
Mr. and Mrs. Caddy spoke to regular Agenda Item Y.,
G., under Reports and Recommendations, G., Housing
Assistance to the Housing Resource Center and GHMC
for the purchase and replacement of a home located at
2012 Eldridge.

Mr. and Mrs. Caddy were unclear if public comment
would be accepted at that time in the meeting, and
wanted to express their support, as an abutting property
owner, to the City's support of the purchase and
demolition of this blighted property.

Mr. and Mrs. Caddy stated that they had a written
petition from fourteen (14) other neighbors, supporting
this proposed Council action, and expressed their
appreciation of the City's responsiveness to past
concerns of neighbors.

Acting Mayor Kough and Councilmember heard
comments from Mr. and Mrs. Caddy, and encouraged
them to remain for that portion of the regular meeting
agenda.

B. Ed Burrell, 87 Mid Oaks Lane
Mr. Burrell spoke to the status of a letter written by him,
on behalf of concerned citizens, regarding disbanding the
former Ethics Commission.

City Manager Beets responded that, at this time, in his
capacity as City Manager and under the direction of City
Attorney J amnik the only action available would be to
distribute a copy of the letter, pending further Council
direction. Mr. Beets stated that former Council action
abolished the Ethics Commission, and the only pending
action at this time would be a revision of City Resolution
conforming to that decision.

6:15 - 6:30 p.m.
