<br />Special City Council Minutes - 09/03/02 <br />Page 8 <br /> <br />community, he needed to compromise his preferred desires. <br /> <br />Kough moved, Maschka seconded amendment to the original <br />motion, that the Resolution be amended from a cap of <br />$9,000,000 to a maximum $9,700,000 bond issue. <br /> <br />In polling the Council, all concurred support, with the <br />exception of Mayor Kysylyczyn. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn noted his objection in not supporting the <br />motion, for the record, with not borrowing additional funds <br />when funds existed in reserves. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn asked if all Councilmembers were willing <br />to make the project viable by canvassing the community door- <br />to-door, seeking public support for the project. <br /> <br />Councilmembers Kough, Schroeder and Klausing confirmed <br />their support of the motion. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn reiterated his comment that Council support <br />of the motion went beyond their voting, and would require <br />additional volunteer work. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka stated that canvassing for public <br />support would be redundant, and that the purpose of <br />referendum was to allow the public to make their own decision <br />for support or lack of support for the proposed proj ect; further <br />stating that he would not be canvassing the community door-to- <br />door. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczynjoined Councilmembers Kough and <br />Schroeder in actively promoting the bond issue, and called the <br />motion. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Maschka, Klausing, Kough, Schroeder and <br />Kysylyczyn. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />Kysylyczyn moved, Kough seconded directing staff to prepare, <br />
