<br />Regular City Council Minutes -10/14/02 <br />Minutes - Page 7 <br /> <br />employment with the League of Minnesota Cities (LMC). <br /> <br />City Manager Beets stated that the second firm selection <br />was Ratwik, Roszak & Maloney, but due to the inability to <br />cover the required meetings due to other conflicts, the <br />panel was not recommending the City's consideration of <br />the firm. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder stated he would go on record <br />not voting for confirmation of Cambell Knutson, since <br />another comparable firm was available he would like to <br />start with a clean slate. <br /> <br />Councilnlember Klausing asked Councilmember <br />Schroeder to elaborate on his rationale for wanting to <br />change from an experienced firm, with Councilmember <br />Sc11Toeder reiterating his original statements. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn stated that he supported the Council's <br />decision to go through the RFP process; and expressed his <br />concern with continuing with the firm of Campbell <br />Knutson due to four (4) past issues: <br /> <br />1) His personal disappointment with the advice provided <br />regarding flag ordinance issues; <br />2) His concerns about Campbell Knutson's actions in <br />Golden Valley and the City Managers' Association; <br />3) His concerns with public statements made for the record <br />from a fornler City Councilmember regarding alleged <br />serial council meetings to avoid open meeting <br />requirements; <br />4) His concerns in a recent legislative session lobbying by <br />the firm and claims that they represented the City of <br />Roseville without City Council authorization. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn repeated his concerns and concurred <br />with Councilmember Schroeder's intentions of not <br />supporting confirmation of the City Manager's <br />appointnlent of Campbell Knutson. <br /> <br />Councilnlember Klausing expressed his disappointment in <br />
