<br />Special City Council Minutes - 11/07/02 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Schroeder, Kough, Maschka, Klausing and <br />Kysylyczyn. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />v. <br /> <br />Special Work Session Parks & Recreation Commission, <br />Joint Meeting with the City Council <br /> <br />Chair Gale Pederson introduced all members of the Parks and <br />Recreation Commission: Marilyn Pearson Florian, Gerald S. <br />Freeman, Scott Higbee, Richard Jacobson, George Merrill, <br />Elwyn H. Sands, and Joseph Smith. <br /> <br />Then Parks and Recreation Director Lonnie Brold(e reviewed <br />the questions that the Commission would like to hear discussed <br />tonight. <br /> <br />Discussion of Roseville Community Center <br />Each member gave a synopsis of the prepared questions: <br />· Given where we have been and where we are now, what <br />are the next series of steps to move the Community <br />Center concept forward? <br />· What organizational approach will make sense In <br />developing and carrying out the next series of steps? <br />· What would be the timeline? <br />· Who will be responsible for leading the process and the <br />charge? <br />· Where do we go from here? <br /> <br />Jake Jacobson: Spoke in favor of a Project Advisory Group <br />consisting of Parks and Recreation Commission members, <br />students and citizens to identify and work through the various <br />dimensions of this issue and to develop some options, possibly <br />leading to a Referendum. He indicated the timetable depends <br />on the intensity of the feeling in the community. <br /> <br />Craig Klausing: Reviewed the various Community Center Task <br />Forces over the last 15 years. As for the timetable, he urged <br />caution about yet another bond referendum following the <br />School District and Police/Public Works referendums this year. <br />He thought some citizen committees might be helpful, in light <br /> <br />7 :00 p.m. <br />Joint Meeting <br />Parks & <br />Recreation <br />Commission <br />
