<br />Regular City Council Minutes - 12/09/02 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />In addition, Councilmember Maschka spoke to some <br />technology updates he witnessed at the conference, <br />including interactive display screens. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka also reported on some private <br />companies that modify government access channel <br />appearance. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka also had available material on <br />pathway vacuuming, sweeping and plowing; <br />Neighborhood Watch "Speed" Programs; Alternative <br />Funding Mechanisms, providing alternatives to tax <br />funding; and a company in Blaine, MN that makes <br />refrigerator magnets used by some cities to identify <br />department phone numbers in an easily-accessible place <br />for residents. <br /> <br />Finally, Councilmember Maschka reported on the <br />efficiency and effectiveness of the Salt Lake City <br />conference organizers, and noted his amazement with the <br />Mormon Tabernacle Choir. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn asked Councilmember Schroeder to <br />meet with Councilmember Maschka to talk about Cable <br />Channel 16, and asked Councilmember Maschka to meet <br />with Lt. Mathwig over the Homeland Security issues. <br /> <br />A. City Council Chambers Technology Update <br />Staff presented information regarding various components <br />for video equipment upgrades to the Council Chambers. <br /> <br />Communications Specialist Tim Pratt spoke first to the <br />new flat panel monitors built into the dais. He then <br />reviewed the proposed 50" plasma screen. He <br />demonstrated the plasma monitor displaying GIS data <br />from Roseville' s website. <br /> <br />Councilmember Klausing asked whether the dais monitors <br />showed pictures that would otherwise be displayed on the <br />public monitors in the Chambers, or whether the dais <br />monitors were attached to a computer with an Internet <br /> <br />City Council <br />Chambers <br />Technology <br />Update <br />
