City Council Regular Meeting - 10/23/06 Minutes - Page 20 Further discussion included the anticipated length of the meetings on October 31 and November 16; delivery to each Councilmember at their home this week of blind application packets for eight candidates selected by PDI for Councilmember review and individual ranking; and time allotted for each interview, estimated at Yz hour each. Pust moved, Maschka seconded, a motion accepting the following people to serve on the City Manager Interview Panel: Internal Group External Group Dona Bacon Duane Schwartz Ann Berrv Bill Maierus Lonnie Brokke Maureen Sikorra Rollin Hunsicker Ron Morse Margaret Driscoll Carol Sletner Richard Jacobson John Thein Rich Gasawav John Stark Karl Keel Roger Toogood Councilmember Ihlan noted that, with respect to the external panelists, that ratification was being given after the fact; and sought a way to allow any interested party in participating in the process. Councilmember Pust opined that, there would be some opportunity for all of the interested public to meet the candidates on November 16. Councilmember Pust advised her that they were comfortable with the panelists chosen; and she encouraged other interested citizens to come forward at the November 16th meeting. Further discussion was held regarding the November 16th meeting, and the preference for a forum or social-style meeting. Roll Call Ayes: Kough; Maschka; Ihlan; Pust and Klausing. Nays: None. Councilmember Ihlan opined that she didn't feel the October 31, 2006 Special City Council meeting provided a solution by asking Council candidates to participate without being able to vote; since the current City Council would be making the decision on the new City Manager.
