1998 City of R�seville Residenliul Stucli� <br />Decision Resources, Ltcl. <br />July, 1998 <br />Sixty percent "had real roots in my neighborhood. <br />• Twenty-five percent disagreed. <br />Seventy percent felt "thcir neighbors are pretty much like themsclves." <br />• Twenty-four percent saw "their neighbors as quite different from them_" <br />SixTy-five percent had noted "no change" in the types of people who lived in their neighborhood <br />in recent years. <br />• Nineteen percent felt it had "changed for the better." <br />• Only seven percent thought it had "chan�ed for the worse_" <br />City services provided to the neighbarhood were generally well-regarded. <br />• EYCeptionally high ratings were awarded for "street maintenance," "snow plowing of <br />streets," "street light replacement," "park maintenance," "curb and gutter repair," and <br />"trce mainter�ance along the boulevards." <br />• Moderately high negative ratings were posted for "having reasanable property taxes" and <br />"street trafiic." <br />Fifty percent saw "no change" in the desirability of their neighborhood as a place to live in the <br />past few years. <br />• "I'hirty-fve percent felt it was "more desirable." <br />• Eleven percent saw it as"less desirable." <br />• Criticisms stemmed from "growth," at eight percent, and "more low inc+�me housing," at <br />six percent. <br />Residents were particularly positive about their area of Roseville as a place to li<<e. <br />• Very high ratings were posted for "gcneral appearance and livability," "resale value of <br />„ « ,� « ,� « <br />homes, street maintenance, convenience of shopping areas, convenience to t eir <br />place of worship," "safety from violent personal crime," and "a plac� to rais� children." <br />• Above average negative scares were given on "bus service," "fieedom from excessivc <br />noise," "a place to purchase a starter home," "a place to purchase luxury housing," and <br />"available heaith care facilities." <br />Foriy-onc percent felt "traffic probiems, such as speeding and caxeless driving," was at least a <br />"somewhat serious" problem in their neighborhood. <br />e Twenty-three percent similarly rated ` juvenile delinquency and mischie£" <br />• Twenty-two percent each rat�d "drugs" and "burglary" as"very scrious"or "sornewhat <br />Page 4 <br />
