Acquire and maintain new open space throughout the City as land is
` redeveloped with a balanced mix of housing units to provide a more
attractive community for new families.
7. Develop specialized facilities such as a batting practice area
with pitchzng machines, bicycle and paddl boat rental services, golf
driving range, putting green, and a water park, thus praviding excit-
ing, safe, enjoyable leisure experiences as well as producing revenues
sufficient to cover the expense af these facilit.ies and for other less
revenue producing facilities and activities.
8. Upgrade landscaping in parks includng greenery, reforestation,
flowers, and landform features such as berming, rocks, and landscape
walls. These facilities will provide leisure opportunities far
athetics, cultural and social activities.
RATIONALE-
We believe that there is a current demand that wz11 continue to grow
well past the year 2000 for large, unique feature areas that service
special interests, promote sociability and provide centralized commu-
nity gathering spaces. These faciZities will allow for maximum par-
ticipation and a sense of community pride.
STRATEGIES•
l. Construct a Roseville Community Center which could provide areas
for seniors, gymnastics, court games, fitness, water piay, meeting
space, cultural arts and socia gatherings.
3
