OTHBR TRANSPORTATION I88II88 <br />Goal: <br />Roseville should join with or lead ather communities in the <br />metropolitan area with respect to alternative transportation <br />methods and insist upon high safety standards with respect to <br />the transportation of hazardous materials within and through our <br />community. <br />strategies: <br />Railroad lines now in existence should be kept and more fully <br />utilized if possible. If there is a rail iine abandonment in <br />Roseville, some government agency should acquire the land far <br />public purposes. Roseville should ensure safety at all highway <br />and pedestrian crossings. <br />Emergency vehicles should be strategically located thraughout our <br />cammunity. Emergency vehicle routes should be established and <br />marked, and Opticom {or equal equipment) should be considered. <br />Light rail planning should receiv� input from Roseville. Roseville <br />should preserve potential rights-af-way and station locations, <br />and identify possible routes for tributary bus service. <br />-7- <br />
