Commissioncr McGehee volunteering to <br />4 contact the city's ctluiic restaurant owners/managers to dctermine their interest <br />S ■ HRC Budget funds a�aiiable <br />6 ■ Tnvitations and how to make initial and follow-up contacts and how to provide business <br />7 contacts with information on the benefits of iheir involvetnent <br />8 ■ Additional information available to download frotn the United Way websiie <br />9 ■ Meeting rootn availability, logisncs and set up (Olympic Room at thc OVAL — 2 rooms to <br />10 handle 300 total guests}; registration/sign in area; booklet distribution area; food service area; <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />and "village" meeting area <br />Role of the United Way in the event <br />Chair Delmore noted the need to meet several times in August and September to keep planning <br />on track. <br />17 Commissioncr McGehee noted that October had been chose.n, but the specific date could be <br />18 determined once partners were involved; and the need ta make partner contacts as soon as <br />19 possible before additional planning was done. <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />?3 <br />l4 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />Ms. Rivamonte noted the necd to put together a list of invitees; how to develop, divide and <br />process the invitations; and identification of contacts for potcntial partners at the planning table. <br />City Manager Malinen said he met with representatives of Northwestern College and he <br />mentioned the forum and their interest in becoming invoived. <br />Commissioner McGehee noted hcr contacts with Presbyterian Homes represeniatives. <br />29 Commissioners discussed the next steps: <br />30 ■ Commissioner McKenzie coordinate refinements on contact information and assignments <br />31 ■ City Manager Malinen is a rnetnber of the Roseville Visitors Association. He will work with <br />32 RVA Exccutivc Director Julie Larson on ways of networking <br />33 ■ Involvement of the Paxks and Recreation Commission and their volunteer sources <br />34 ■ Finalization of the script to encourage participation. <br />35 <br />36 Subcommittees <br />37 A discussion was held regarding subcommittees to work on issues between HRC meetings. <br />38 <br />39 City iVlanager Malinen advised that the HRC was an advisory body to the City Council and <br />40 should not meet if more than a quorum was present, but assignment of subcommittces at a formal <br />41 HRC meenng would be appropriate and transparent for the public, and those meetings without a <br />�2 quorum would not be subject to posting or open meeting law pravisions, but would simply be <br />43 work groups to accomplish goals and tasks of the HRC. <br />44 <br />45 Proposed Housing Ordinance <br />+6 This discussion was tabled for a future meeting when Commissioner Venters was in attendance. <br />
