'�• �.�� . .��� <br />HUMAN RIGHT5 COMMISSION <br />Purpose <br />The Com�nission is appointed by and serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council <br />in the area of humaza rights. <br />1. Provides a vehicle for citizen input concerning humar� rights issues. <br />2. Monitors and keeps the Council advised conceming human rights issues in the <br />City. <br />3. Assists in carrying out the purpose of the Minnesota Human Rights Act. <br />4. Provides public education activities concerning human rights issues. <br />5. Proinotes a positive huxz�azi rzghis cliumate in fhe community. <br />b. Resolves discrimination complaints through an informal mediation process. <br />7. The Comx�ission does not handle complaints internal to the City organization. <br />Size of Commission <br />Seven mernbers <br />Meetin� ScheduIe <br />Second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. <br />Role of Individual Memb <br />1. Participate in Comrr�ission Meetings <br />A. Provide ideas and suggcstions concerning public education. and <br />promational activities regarding human rights issues. <br />B. Assist in planning and organiring events and activities. <br />
