Roseville Sister City Association <br />June 3, 20d3 <br />Minutes <br />Present: Joyce Boardson, Mary Meyers, Jan Schultz, Tom and Virginia Turba <br />Minutes: <br />1. May minutes stand corrected in that James Boardson was not present as stated. <br />3. Current Acrivities: Joyce has most oi the parade participants Iined up. <br />There will be 6-7 girl scouts helpling to pass out candy. Jan brought <br />samples of the candy left over from last year. It was decided by the group <br />that we need to obtain a new supply and noC use last years. Jan will take <br />charge of getting the candy supply. We hope to have an electric garden <br />tractor, this year., makzng the dr�vi�g easier and quieter - the music wzil be <br />heard!!! We are also number 17, making our start-stop eaxlier. <br />3. Treasurer's reporC: NoY available. However, Joyce presented a check for $50 <br />on behalf of her employer, HealthPartners' CareCash pxogram for co�ununity <br />volunCeer work. <br />4. Shinmachi: Mary reported that homes have been found for 8 students and 2 <br />teachers. She is not sure if 10 students will arrive as Shinmachz has not <br />responded to the limit of 8 homes instead of the usual 1Q. Arrival will be <br />August 8-18. <br />5. Costa Rica: Tom has not heard if anyone is expected to go to Costa Rica in <br />the near future and would be able to take the sewing machine we have. He is <br />also not hearing much C.R. There is no communication going on from the local <br />colleges wzth C.R. <br />6. Informatian Items: The arrival of �he group from China is stil� an ho�d� <br />Tom only knows that if Chey do come, it wiil be later than planned. <br />7.
