Roseville Sister CiCy Association <br />Minutes <br />May 6, 2003 <br />Present: Jim and Joyce Boarson, Chen Chen, Mary Meyers, Jan SchulCz, Tom and <br />Virginia Turba. <br />Minutes: <br />1. Treasurer's report: �ot available. Joyce announced that she will be receiving <br />a"CashCare" donation from her work place as a contribution of $75.00. <br />2. Shinmachi: Mary reported that there is active communication going on wi�h <br />Shinmachi for the arrival of students this August. However, 10 studnets are <br />expec�ed and only five homes have been found so far. Homes for Che 2 teachers <br />has been made. If 5 more homes can noC be found, the arrival number wi11 <br />have to be reduced. <br />3. Costa Rica: The counsulate is aware Chat we have a sewing machine to be trans- <br />ported to Costa Rica. We are St�ii looking for a computer. <br />4. �ew Business: The Normandale Japanese Garden Committee has a"Garden Party" <br />on June 22, 20003. There is a tour at 11:30, dinner at 12-6, drummer activities <br />at 1:3d-3:30, and dancers at 2:30 and 5:00. Advance admission is $9.00 for <br />adults, $4:50 for under l0yrs, and at the door it is $10:00 and $5:00. <br />5. Information items: The Chinese group of business men arriving in June is not <br />clear due to the SARS concern. They may canceal and come later in the year. <br />6. Current activities: Soyce has 6-9 girl scouts lined up for the parade. There <br />may be a need for one or two adults for flag carrying and other ac�ivities. <br />7. �ext meeting is Tuesday, June 3 at 6:30.
