� :, �"��. Roseville Sister City Association Minutes August 2i, Z001 Present: Joyce and 3ames Boardson, Jan $chultz, Mary Meyers, Patii DeBruycker, Tom and Virginia Turba. Minutes: I. Past Activities: non-active 2. Treasurer's report: not available 3. Shinmachi Report: The trip with srudents going to Japan went. Every one had an enjoyable trip. The return visit with Sk►inmachi students coming here also went very well. 4. Casta Rica Report: The annual Friendship City Meeting will be held in Richfield on Sunday, Sept. 16 from 1I:30 to 2:00 PM. It is Tom's understanding that Cl-►ere may be Costa Rican visitors, from both C.R. and CosCa Ricans living in MN. A brunch or noon lucheon wi11 be zncluded. Tom is still planning on having a trip to C.R. for the 2002 elections. Tony Anderson will aiso be having a group, as expecked at this rime. Airfares are being looked into by Tom. ,�oyce presented potential fares as quoted by her travel agent. Sept. 15 is Nat'1 Costa Rica Day. S. New nusiness: The MN Sister City State Conference is in New Ulm on Sept. 22nd. For details, contact Tom. Attendance fee is $25.00. 6. Ongoing Business: Joyce final.ly made contact with the Roseville Visitor's Center since they moved to thei.r new location. Just before moving, they thought they woutd be able to have our display case (which had been in the Foseville Library until March, O1). However, after settling into their new quarters, they felt the case would not fit into their lobby area plans. ,ioy�e wil� continue to look for public space. 'The Oval does not look avail- able for "safe space". Hariet--Alexander Nature Center was suggested, however traffic is quite low. Other places were Barnes-Noble, Har Mar Mall (same place in general), and Fairview CenCer {other than at the P& R office), If any one knows of a place, or potential place, please contact Joyce, 651- 4$1-3963.
