Treasurer's report: not avaiYable 2. Shinmachi: There wiLl he 7 boys and 3 girls along with 2 adults arriving in early August. Homes have been found for all except ane boy. The previous hotel will not be available. Joyce suggested that Barb contact the chairman of the Roseville Hotel Ass. to see what kind of rate could be found within the Roseville area, Luggage from the airport is appaxently a problem. Jim offered to assist with his van to get our guests and Zuggage to the hotel for the first day/night. 3. Costa Rica: A basketball coach will be co�ing from Cartago for the July 5-10/li clinic. Sasketball players are expected to co�e approx. July 27 to Aug. 2/3 for a total of approx. I5-17 wi�h 2 coaches. The Annual Friendship meeting wi�l be held in Northfield this year to rotate the meeting place. It will take place at t�e Northfield Golf Club at 6:00 PM. If you plan to attend, please Iet Tom know by �une 25. The other towns are planning to give a gi�t to Lupita (secre- tary at the Consulate). The C.R. group agreed to go in an the gift, $23.SQ being our share. Barb stated that the �oseville school wil.1 be getting new book�. She will see if these can be given to our group to be sent to C.R. 4. Parade: Work is progressing. There was some brain storming on how to get the land on to the globe frame that Jim has constructed. Jo}=ce has been Iining up children and adults for the parade. (If you k:iow any children who would like to be in the parade, 1et Joyce know. Although she has been busy sewing, "Am. child- ren; without costume are okay to have, as wei1.) Jan has graciausly donated 90�� of candy. We have not received any offers for financial assistanc� despite efforts, for purchasing candy. 5. New buszness: Tom announced that Steve North will be retiring this fa11. Our association ��1i greatly miss him as he has been very supportive. There wili be a review of our "Articles of Incorporation" at the City Council workshop meeting on June 2I, at 6:30. Tom asked the group to please review it and give any suggested changes to him prior to the date. C:i! 7. E:� Action item: Barb will be placing an order for T-shirts with the S.C. logo. The C.R. group suggested that some also be ordered for the basketball players. Due to the Annual Frzendship City meeting, our next meeting has been moved to Tuesday, July 5, City Hall, b:30 PM. Ongoing business: Joyce announce that we are not Iikely to get Sa1es Tax ex- emption with the state. Due to woric loads, other business has noC been addressed.
