City of Rosevi�le Roseville Sister Citq Association �inutes May 5, 1999 Present: James and Joyce Boardson, Barb Sackman, Jan Schultz, Carol Stark, Tom and Virginia Turba Minutes: • 1. IRS status: Approval was given for us to be a permanent non-profit organi- zation, upgraded from a temporary status. 2. Treasurer's report: No big change. Several checks have been written as activity is �n progressfor the Shinmachi exchange tihis summer. 3. Shinmachi: T�shirts are being planned with a 5ister City emblem. The art work is being done by Tia Rollefson (U. of M. sCudent) and coordinated by Jan Strootman. These wil� be used for the 5hinmachi exchange. ExCras are heing ordered so that they would be available for nther:-acti�ity:.as Wei1. Barb will take care oi thank-yo�s for the Roseville Grant that is helping to finanee this summer's exchange activities. 3. Costa Rica: Scouts from Costa Rica this year_:_ar-r�ys��_July3., wi11 be from Cartago. They will be envol�ed with a service project at GJater Works Park, ati which they wil� be camping at least one n'ight. There is no news about par�icipation in the Great American Shoot OuC BaskeCball tournament from Cartago. 4. Parade: Work is progressing on the float planned for this yea�_s Rosefest parade. Joyce has been trying to solicite donations for candy. Costnmes are also being 11ned up. Several volunteers to be fn the parade have lieen � found. Jan volunteered to take pictures this year. Again, we need to be sure Chere are aC least two (2) adults following behind the parade ta mon- itor the safety of the children as most o£ the adults will be in the front raith flags and banners. 5.
