CiCy of Roseville Roseville Sister Cit Association Minutes �une 3, 1998 Present: James and Joyce Boardson, Refko Masterson, Carol Stark, Tom and Virginia Turba. Minutes: 1. Action items from last meeting: The display case tags are fin�shed but were unable to be put into the case due to the remodeling of City Hall. 2. Treasurer's report: There were some questions on mailing address for the bank staCements and a return�fee which CaroZ wi11 look into. 3. Shin�achi: Things are progressing on the Home Stays for 1998. Boardsons announced that they have a neighbor whom has lived in Japan and would be interesred in being involved with our 5ister City. We will work to draw that family in. Our Sister City is listed in the "Japanese Guide to NiN. 1997-�998. We will try to continue our presence with each qearly publi- cation. We wil� also try Co have 12-15 copies to pass out to our Japanese visitor in August. 4. Costa Rica: We were fortunate to have Fernando Gomez Leandro and Yalando Bloise Queros visit our meeting. They are staying with the Turbas. They hosted the Turbas and Goedekes while in Costa Rica We may have 2 teams come for the'Great American ShooC Out". Eduardo Cruz will be one of the adults in the group. We will need home-stays for approximately 18 students and 2-3 adults. The dates are July 29-Aug. 2. There is a possibility that the group may want to stay Ionger for some site seeing. We are expecting 2 adults to come up for I-2 weeks in August for a basketball clinic and for Beb Erdman to go to C.R. for 1-2 weeks in Feb. We have a 20 y/o young lady coming in July„ hoging to stay for 5-6 months. Stew Roberts and Kris Simonson thought they would be ab�e Co help with a school location. However, we wiLl need hosCs for July and August, as well as some weekends to give Stew and Kris a break. 5. Rosefest parade: We are unit 3.4-A in Che parade. Volunteers need to be at the high school parking lot by 6:fl0, parade starts at 6:30. Boardsons will try to arrange some type of sociaZ after the parade, if possible, for the volunteers. 6. Scrape baok: We are still looking for pictures to develope a book showing our activites, to be used for fund raising. If you have pictures available of activites such as home-stays, US Soccer Cup, last years parade, etc., please contact Jim Boardson. 7. Next Meeting: Wednesday, July 1, 1998, 6:30 at City Hall.
