(See AP 5.38 for staffing requirements to accomplish this <br />plan} PRI4RITY 1. <br />AP 4.7 Obtain the approval. commitment and financial support from <br />Council to remodel and increase the living and_ apqaratus bav space at <br />the Fairview Station (#2), or to relocate Fire Station #2 to a location <br />more feasible to the size requirements far future needs. PRIOR[TY 1. <br />AP 4.8 Develop a system to ensure timely supply delivery to the fire stations. <br />PRIORITY 5. <br />AP 4.9 Implement a routine facilities maintenance program, including allocation of <br />funds. PRIORITY 2. <br />AP 4.10 Develop a systezn to prioritire facility maintenancc/repair/replacement/ and <br />special projects on a 1-3 scale (with 1 being top priority). This system shall include a <br />schedule for funding and completion of the projects in priority ordcr. PRIORITY 2. <br />Vehicle management <br />Vehicle management is a critical component of providing effective emergency service to <br />the cornmunity. Emergency vehicles must be properly maintained for response. If the <br />vehicle breaks down, the best-trained firefightcrs in the world cannot provide their <br />services. Our members' lives, and the lives of our customers, depend on safe and <br />dependable apparatus. Vehicle maintenance must be completed timely and <br />professionally. <br />Obj ectives <br />• Develop and implement programs to increase level of customer service through <br />proactive fleet management. <br />• Develop and implemcnt programs to improve professionaiism by ensuring <br />equipment and apparatus rcliability. <br />• Develop and implement programs to improve the quality of the work environment <br />for mernbers who rely on this equipmcnt. <br />• Develop and implement programs to improve cost effectiveness by preventing <br />costly repairs. <br />• Explore opportunities to utili-r.e current and future technology. <br />• Acquire funding for the fleet refurbishment and/or rcplacement program_ <br />Action Plan <br />33 <br />
