• Develop and implement a program to facilitate technical training for confined <br />space re5cue, high angle rescue, trcnch rescue, and water rescue disciplines. <br />• Develop and implement a program to facilitate or host EMT training for mernbers <br />expressing an interest in obtaining this ccrtification, in preparation for the <br />department's implementation of an emergency medical response program. <br />• Develop and implernent a program to conduct multi-company training drills to <br />meet ISO requirements. <br />• Dcvelop and implement to coordinate and conduct random company drills to <br />evaluate crew performance. <br />• Develop and implement a program to monitoz certification and continuing <br />education requirements for all members through the computerized database. <br />• Develop and implement a program to ensure that members are afforded external <br />training opportunities, especially resident courses at the National Fire Academy. <br />• Develop and implement a program to conduct computer tra.ining for all new <br />members and refresher training for all existi..ng members, ensuring that members <br />have the skills to cfficiently access and use the FIRE WIRE, Word, Exccl, <br />Internet and e-mail. <br />• Develop and implement a program to ensure that all current and new membcrs <br />obiain and maintain Fircfighter 1& 2, hazardous materials operations levcl, first <br />responder level (minimum), and cmergency vehicle driving certification. <br />• Develop and implement a process whereby drill credit is e-amed by completing <br />performance and knowledge based testing, not for attendance. <br />• Develop and implement a process whereby Iesson plans are written for all training <br />sessior�s. <br />Action Plan <br />AP 5.6 Training Division staff will conduct a minimum of 2 new recruit training <br />orientation classes az�nually, as feasibility and candidate availability would dictate. <br />PRIORITY 3. <br />AP 5.7 Training Division staff shall strivc to provide a minimurr� of 4 daytime and 4 <br />evening live burn training session at the St. Paul burn building and/or the Minneapolis <br />burn building, or other house or facility annually. PRIORITY 2. <br />AP S.S Training Division staffwill review and revise the recruit member menton.ng <br />program. PRYORITY 3. <br />AP 5.9 Training Division staff wi�l develop a list of training topics that should be <br />conducted on an annual basis for all fuefighters and officers.
