Most of the community's contact with the department cornes
through the services provided by our Operations Division. The firefiters of RFD are
aggressive interior strctural firefighters. Our firef ghters are willing to push the envelope
and take appropriate risks to save lives and protect the property of those requiring our
emergency services.
The effectiveness of our Operations Division is dependent upon support from the
Training and Administrativc Divisions. The implcmentation of the entire strategic plan
will ultimately improve cmergency operations. However, there are some goals that are
specific to this Division.
Objectives
• Develop and implcmcnt a program, in collaboration with the department's safety
officer, to improve department's safety program, improve firefighter security, and
reduce work-related injuries and accidents.
• Develop and implezzzent a list of all the services that RFD will provide during #he
term of this plan and develop a plan for the funding and impleznentation of new
services.
42
