TASTE �F ROSEVILLE <br />Final Committee Report <br />5ept., 1, 1998 <br />I. Critique of Weekend <br />A. Bob Mattson complernented the committee on the marvelous job that everyone did. <br />He felt that the committee excelled beyond many volunteer committees. T`he weekend of the <br />Taste was the wettest weekend of the summer. It was felt that aside from the weather, the <br />weekend was a success. There was an appro�rnate count of 3500 people in attendance over <br />the two day period. Approxitnately 1200 for the volunteer recognitian program. <br />B. More advertising wa.s needed and some suggestions were: <br />- radio <br />- larger advertising in stores/restaurants <br />- more posters needed specifically to advertise the craft fair <br />- paid advertising on grocery bags and in newspapers <br />- craft fair needed more signage <br />* Committee recommended a person/subcommittee that would specifically work on <br />advertising. <br />C. Parking <br />- it was felt that parking was very confusing/specifically where to park and how to access <br />the oval <br />D. Taste Name <br />- Comments were made that people felt that the "Taste" might only mean food - the <br />committee felt that "Taste" encompassed all the aspects of the weekend and the City of <br />Roseville. <br />II. Crafters' <br />- 60 crafters were confirmed; 6 na shows; 5 came, checked in but didn't <br />stay or return <br />- Survey - 37 responded <br />� annual event - 20 yes, 8 no, 7 maybe <br />� Ova1- 13 yes, 11 no, 2 maybe <br />� Central Park - 24 yes, 6 no, 7 maybe <br />� If yes to #2 & 3- preference was Central Park <br />� No charge for admission - 11 <br />- Crafters felt that there was a lac% of visibility, signage, Sunday <br />activities, and the admission fee of $2.00 <br />- Crafters felt it would be better to charge thern more than to charge <br />admission <br />- It was recommended that on future applications for crafters, include a note stating that <br />refunds will not be given after such and such a date. <br />III. Volunteer Recognition <br />- 4,000 names were an the wall with only 2 duplicates, the number on the wall did not <br />include the 1500 that didn't want their names displayed. <br />- the list was saved - can it be used again? <br />- 306 caps were given out {1644 remaining) <br />- Suggestian was to disperse again on September 19 <br />- The committee made a motion, seconded to give the hats to the <br />Parks a.nd Rec Department for their activities. <br />- The comrxiittee will put all the names/addresses, etc. on a disk for <br />future reference <br />
